Who this policy covers
This policy explains how UseHype handles information when you visit our website, create an account, build a profile or collaborate through the platform. For questions about your information, contact support@usehype.africa.
Information you share
The information involved depends on how you use the service.
- Account and profile details, such as your name, email address, location, biography and account type.
- Creator portfolios, packages, connected social profiles and metrics made available through those connections.
- Campaign briefs, proposals, agreements, messages, deliverables, feedback and approval records.
- Payment and payout information needed for a transaction, including relevant account details and payment status.
- Support requests and information you choose to include in them.
Our systems and service providers also process technical information such as device and browser details, network information and service logs.
How information is used
Information is used to provide accounts and profiles, connect creators with brands, operate campaigns, handle payments and support, protect the service, and meet applicable obligations.
Depending on the activity, processing may be needed to provide a requested service or perform an agreement, meet a legal obligation, pursue legitimate interests such as security, or act on your consent. Where processing depends on consent, you can withdraw that consent for future processing.
Profiles and campaign visibility
Information included in a public creator profile can be viewed by visitors and may appear in search engines. Think carefully about what you put in your biography, portfolio and connected public profiles.
Campaign information is shared with the people involved according to their access and role. Sharing work in a campaign is different from making it part of a public portfolio. Only upload content and personal information you have the right to share.
Providers and connected services
UseHype relies on providers for functions such as hosting, authentication, data storage, communications and payments. Information may be processed by these providers to deliver their part of the service, including in countries outside your own. Applicable data protection requirements govern those arrangements.
When you connect a social account or use a payment service, that provider’s own privacy terms also apply. If you use an AI-assisted feature, the information you submit may be processed by the provider supporting that feature. Avoid including sensitive information that is not needed for your request.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to address fraud, security incidents or disputes.
Retention and account closure
Information is kept for the purposes described here, taking account of the account relationship, campaign records, financial obligations, support needs and dispute resolution. Different types of records can have different retention requirements.
You can contact us to request deletion or account closure. Some information may need to be retained for legal obligations, transaction records or an unresolved dispute. We will explain any relevant limitations when responding to your request.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may ask to access or correct your information, request erasure or a portable copy, object to certain processing, or ask for processing to be restricted. You can also withdraw consent where it is the basis for processing.
Email support@usehype.africa with your request. We may need to confirm your identity before acting. If you have an unresolved concern, you can contact your relevant data protection authority, including the Nigeria Data Protection Commission in Nigeria.
